  • Grade: 12, with a base salary range of 431,333 – 646,999 XAF (plus allowances and benefits)

Duties and Responsibilities of a Supply Chain Officer

1. Procurement & Sourcing

  • Manage end-to-end procurement processes, including vendor selection, tendering, and contract negotiations.
  • Ensure compliance with organizational policies and donor requirements.
  • Maintain supplier databases and evaluate vendor performance.

2. Inventory & Warehouse Management

  • Oversee stock levels, ensuring optimal inventory to avoid shortages or overstocking.
  • Implement efficient warehouse practices (storage, labeling, FIFO/FEFO systems).
  • Conduct regular stock audits and reconcile discrepancies.

3. Logistics & Transportation

  • Coordinate movement of goods (local/international), including customs clearance.
  • Manage fleet operations (vehicle maintenance, fuel tracking, driver schedules).
  • Optimize transport routes for cost and time efficiency.

4. Supply Chain Coordination

  • Liaise with program teams, suppliers, and logistics partners to align deliveries with project needs.
  • Monitor lead times and resolve bottlenecks in the supply chain.
  • Ensure timely distribution of supplies to field locations.

5. Compliance & Documentation

  • Maintain accurate records (purchase orders, delivery notes, waybills).
  • Ensure adherence to legal, safety, and quality standards (e.g., ISO, WHO guidelines for medical supplies).
  • Prepare reports on procurement, stock levels, and logistics performance.

6. Cost Control & Process Improvement

  • Identify cost-saving opportunities (bulk purchasing, alternative suppliers).
  • Implement digital tools (ERP, inventory software) to streamline operations.
  • Train staff on supply chain best practices.

7. Emergency Response

  • Rapidly deploy supplies for humanitarian crises (disasters, conflicts).
  • Adapt procurement/logistics plans to dynamic field conditions.
