The Inter-American Development Bank (IDB) country office in Uruguay is actively seeking a highly service-oriented individual to fill the role of Administrative Assistant Driver within the Administration area. This position offers a unique opportunity to contribute to the efficient operation of the IDB’s Corporate Sector (CSC/CUR) in Uruguay, a team dedicated to the comprehensive management of human, financial, and administrative resources. The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in ensuring the smooth functioning of day-to-day operations, supporting both the administrative and logistical needs of the office, and providing essential services to the team.
Your Role and Responsibilities
As the Administrative Assistant Driver, you will be entrusted with a wide range of responsibilities that require a combination of administrative expertise, logistical coordination, and driving proficiency. Your primary duties will include:
1. Onboarding, Onsite, and Offboarding Support:
- Assist with onboarding new team members by ensuring they have the necessary resources and information to integrate smoothly into the Uruguay Team.
- Provide support during the offboarding process, ensuring that all formalities are completed efficiently.
2. Logistics and Project Support:
- Support the logistics and photographic documentation of projects, missions, and meetings. This includes coordinating schedules, preparing materials, and ensuring that events run seamlessly.
3. Security Coordination:
- Assist in managing security-related issues for the office and international staff.
- Update the communications tree to ensure all team members are informed and connected.
- Manage security supplies, including cameras, satellite phones, evacuation protocols, and business continuity plans.
4. Corporate Sustainability Initiatives:
- Collaborate on initiatives under the Corporate Sustainability Program, such as organizing donations, maintaining inventories, and updating process flowcharts.
5. Event Organization:
- Work closely with other members of the CUR team to organize and implement both internal and external events. This includes coordinating logistics, managing schedules, and ensuring all details are handled professionally.
6. Training Coordination:
- Coordinate mandatory training sessions for state licenses, including fire prevention, first aid, defensive driving, and other relevant certifications.
7. Corporate Purchases:
- Use the PCard to make corporate purchases, ensuring that all transactions are processed accurately and in compliance with IDB policies.
8. Procedures and Formalities:
- Handle in-person procedures and formalities with public and private organizations, particularly the Ministry of Public Works and Transport.
9. Vehicle Management:
- Take responsibility for the Representation’s vehicles, including documentation control, insurance policies, maintenance, and ensuring that all vehicles are in optimal condition.
10. Transportation Services:
- Transport the Representative according to their schedule and assist in coordinating itineraries and travel arrangements for CUR team members, missions, and visiting authorities.
Qualifications and Requirements
To be considered for this role, you must meet the following criteria:
- Experience: At least two years of relevant experience in similar administrative and logistical tasks.
- Languages: Fluency in Spanish is required. Proficiency in English or other languages will be considered an asset.
- Systems: Strong knowledge of the Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) is essential.

Additional Requirements:
- Citizenship: You must be a citizen of Uruguay or one of the IDB’s 48 member countries. Additionally, you must be eligible to obtain a valid residence visa or work permit in Uruguay without requiring sponsorship from the IDB.
- Consanguinity: You must not have any family members (up to the fourth degree of consanguinity and second degree of affinity, including your spouse) currently employed by the IDB, IDB Invest, or IDB Lab.
