Work Location

The internship offers exceptional flexibility to accommodate the successful candidate’s preferences and operational requirements. Options include:

  • Fully remote (work from anywhere in the world)
  • Hybrid model (combination of in-person and remote work)

Expected Duration

3 months, with the possibility of extension up to 6 months based on performance and operational needs.

Duties and Responsibilities

This is an unpaid, full-time internship (35 hours per week) with a duration of three to six months. The intern will work either in a hybrid arrangement in New York or fully remotely. The work location, duration, and modality can be tailored to the selected candidate’s request while aligning with operational needs. We are seeking two interns: one to commence in October-November 2025 and another in January-February 2026.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Supporting the implementation of activities under the Building Our Pillar action plan, including initiatives like MyCareer, the Gender Parity Action Plan, and the Disability Inclusion Action Plan.
  • Collecting, analyzing, and visualizing quantitative and qualitative data to inform decision-making.
  • Updating online platforms with information related to staff engagement activities.
  • Assisting in the preparation and dissemination of weekly newsletters and other communication materials.
  • Supporting change management initiatives and coordinating specific events.
  • Performing other ad hoc duties as required to advance the team’s objectives.

Qualifications/Special Skills

Applicants must meet one of the following criteria:

  • Be currently studying in a postgraduate program (like a Master’s degree or higher) or have already finished one.
  • Be in your final year of a Bachelor’s degree program or have recently graduated.

Ideal candidates will have a background in communications, management, data analysis, human resources, or related fields. While professional work experience is not required, applicants should demonstrate a strong academic or practical foundation in areas relevant to the internship.

Additional desirable skills include:

  • Proficiency in designing surveys and polls.
  • Advanced knowledge of standard software applications, particularly MS Word, MS PowerPoint, and MS Teams.

Eligibility Note: If your parent, brother, or sister currently works for the United Nations, you cannot apply for this internship. Candidates must confirm their ability to cover all costs associated with travel, visas, accommodation, health insurance, and living expenses for the duration of the internship.
