Duties and Responsibilities

The intern will provide essential support to the Protocol and Admin Services team, gaining hands-on experience in office operations. Key tasks include:

  • Documentation & Data Management:
    • Assist with filing, documentation, and database updates.
    • Record tickets and extract data using Service Desk software.
  • Logistical & Administrative Support:
    • Provide protocol assistance for events and services.
    • Support CBO admin tasks (stationery audits, inventory, ad-hoc translations).
    • Assist in communication with GOUNH users via Intranet and other channels.
  • Cross-functional Collaboration:
    • Participate in CBO-related activities and team projects.

Learning Opportunities

While no formal training is provided, interns will gain practical skills in:
✅ Office operations and administrative workflows.
✅ Handling diverse administrative challenges.
✅ Document management systems and IT applications.
✅ Working effectively in a multicultural environment.

Qualifications & Requirements

Education: Applicants must meet one of the following:

  • Be enrolled in the final year of a Bachelor’s program (or equivalent).
  • Be a recent graduate (within 1 year of graduation).

Skills & Experience:

  • Fluent in English (written and spoken).
  • Proficient in MS Office (Word, Excel); database experience preferred.
  • Strong attention to detail for data verification and entry.
  • Basic image/video editing skills are a plus.

Position Overview

The Service Desk Intern will support the daily operations of the Service Desk Front Desk, gaining hands-on experience in IT service management and administrative support within a multicultural UN environment.


Key Responsibilities

Service Desk Operations

✔ Receive and process service requests via phone, email, Service Delivery Platform, and in-person inquiries
✔ Route technical requests to appropriate support teams and track them using the online service system
✔ Assist with visitor registration and maintain up-to-date security access lists

Administrative & Conference Support

✔ Provide logistical assistance for meetings and conference services
✔ Prepare and maintain daily access reports for GOUNH
✔ Handle documentation and filing tasks

Communication & Coordination

✔ Communicate with GOUNH users and teams through Intranet and other channels
✔ Support CBO (Common Back Office) related activities
✔ Perform additional administrative tasks as required
