Position: Radiologic Technologist Intern
Locations: Yaoundé and Douala, Cameroon

Responsibilities

Under the Chief Migration Health Officer and Radiologic Technologist, the intern will support migration health assessments (HAP) and radiology services in Cameroon.

Learning Objectives:

  • Verify applicant identities (passports/IDs) and assist with radiology reception workflow.
  • Support X-ray counseling, pregnancy checks, and consent verification.
  • Ensure proper radiation protection (e.g., pelvic lead shielding).
  • Assist in biodata entry, CXR labeling, and quality checks per IOM guidelines.
  • Coordinate image uploads to e-Medical, CDs, or hard copies as needed.
  • Liaise with Teleradiology Centers for readings, additional views, and follow-ups.
  • Prepare daily/monthly radiology reports and maintain statistics.
  • Ensure machine safety, stock tracking, and a client-friendly environment.
  • Adhere to radiation safety protocols (e.g., wearing dosimeters).

Qualifications

Education & Experience:

  • Final-year Bachelor’s/Master’s student OR recent (≤1 year) graduate in Medical Radiologic Technology from an accredited institution.

Skills:

  • Client registration/reception experience.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and data management systems.
  • Knowledge of lab techniques, quality control, biosafety, and resource optimization.

Programme Manager (CCCM & Shelter and Settlements) – P3

Eligibility: Internal candidates only (current IOM staff or former staff separated in the last 12 months due to restructuring)

Key Responsibilities

✔ Strategic Leadership: Develop and implement IOM Yemen’s CCCM & S&S strategy, aligning with global standards and local agreements.
✔ Programme Oversight: Manage project design, budgets, and implementation, ensuring compliance with donor requirements and IOM guidelines.
✔ Capacity Building: Provide technical guidance and enhance skills of the CCCM/S&S team.
✔ Stakeholder Engagement: Represent IOM in coordination forums, maintaining strong relations with authorities, clusters, and partners.
✔ MEAL & Reporting: Ensure robust monitoring, evaluation, and learning (MEAL) frameworks and timely internal/external reporting.
✔ Procurement & Compliance: Oversee transparent procurement processes in line with IOM/donor rules, working with RMU and PLU.
✔ Programme Expansion: Identify new funding opportunities and partnerships to grow IOM’s CCCM/S&S portfolio.
✔ Cross-Cutting Integration: Mainstream gender, accountability (AAP), and environmental considerations into programming.

Qualifications

Education:

  • Master’s degree in Civil Engineering, Architecture, International Relations, Social Sciences, or related field + 5 years’ experienceOR
  • Bachelor’s degree in above fields + 7 years’ experience.
    (Accredited universities per UNESCO World Higher Education Database.)

Experience:

  • Managerial experience in CCCM/Shelter programs in conflict/emergency settings (essential).
  • Work with UN/INGOs/NGOs in complex humanitarian environments.
  • Field experience in inter-agency coordination and stakeholder liaison.

Skills:

  • Project development, financial management, and report writing.
  • Strong negotiation, communication, and knowledge of humanitarian-development nexus.
  • Proficiency in MS Office, CAD, or related tools.

Languages:

Arabic or another UN language (French, Spanish, Chinese, Russian) is an advantage.

Fluent English (required).
